As a lot of you know and many of you do not, Pacific Edge Eco Lodge has been part of our lives for more than twenty years, and our full time home for the past five. Over that time, we have been incredibly fortunate to build not only a special place for our family but also a community. We have shared this land with remarkable people from all over the world, neighbors, guests, collaborators and new and old friends, many of whom we hold dear and love deeply. That sense of connection has been one of the greatest gifts of Pacific Edge.
Because of this, the shift we are experiencing has not been easy.
We are deeply grateful for the opportunity we have had to live, build, and grow here, and especially grateful to George and Susie, the original stewards of Pacific Edge, for believing in us and trusting us with this property when they did. Pacific Edge has shaped our family, our work, and our understanding of what is possible when a place is cared for with intention.
With heavy hearts, and due to family circumstances beyond our control, we have had to step away from full time living at the lodge. This was never a decision we wanted or anticipated. As much as we had always hoped to hold Pacific Edge for the long term, we are now in a position where we must explore its future more openly.
At this time, Pacific Edge is being offered for sale, with openness to partnership or investor ownership structures. We welcome discussions with those interested in full ownership or in collaborative approaches to the future of the property.
Pacific Edge sits on two acres in the Escaleras hills above Playa Dominicalito, offering a rare balance of privacy, accessibility, and sweeping ocean and jungle views. The views stretch across the coastline and out over the Pacific, changing throughout the day with the light, weather, and seasons. Sunrises, sunsets, storms, and calm blue days all unfold from nearly every corner of the property.
The property currently includes:
- Four standalone guest cabins, each positioned for privacy and views
- A main house and shared living space that serves as the heart of the property, including a wraparound deck designed for gathering, dining, and taking in the scenery
- A newer two story building adjacent to the main house, offering additional flexibility for living space, offices, studios, or other uses
- A pool and surrounding deck area that serves as a central place to relax, cool off, and enjoy the views
- Two elevated viewing towers that offer unique vantage points over the ocean and jungle and have become favorite spaces for quiet reflection, reading, and wildlife watching
- Room for future growth or reconfiguration, depending on vision and needs
One of the most special aspects of Pacific Edge is the wildlife that moves freely throughout the property. Monkeys, toucans, and countless species of birds are present daily, along with butterflies and other jungle life. The property feels alive in a way that is difficult to describe and has always been a defining part of the experience here.
Over the years, Pacific Edge has welcomed travelers, creatives, families, and small groups from around the world. Looking forward, the property could continue as an eco lodge, transition into a private or part time residence, become a communal living environment, or evolve into a destination for creative gatherings, business retreats, educational programs, healing work, or something entirely new. We are open to different visions and ideas for what Pacific Edge could become.
We recognize that some may wish to take full ownership and shape the property independently, while others may be interested in shared or collaborative models that build on what already exists. All possibilities are being considered, and conversations are welcome.
